Our Work

Let all that you do be done in love. // 1 Corinthians 16:14.

At The Reveye Initiative, our work centers on forming both children and families — strengthening the whole community through education, faith, and opportunity.

Our School

Located in rural Madian, our Montessori and Catholic school, Académie Notre Dame à Madian, serves approximately 45 students each year. Our classrooms are rooted in the Montessori philosophy, fostering independence, concentration, and a love of learning. We seek to form both mind and heart through careful instruction and steady presence.

  • Montessori education rooted in curiosity and independence

  • Formation in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

  • Instruction in Haitian Creole, English, and French

  • Music, dance, and cultural celebrations

  • Two nutritious meals each day

We believe that to truly support a child, we must walk closely with the family. Parents collaborate in their children’s education and participate in quarterly trainings focused on parenting, educational philosophy, and spiritual formation — strengthening both home and classroom.

Education here is both attentive and joyful. Students celebrate Haitian feast days, gather for music and dance, and eagerly await the annual Christmas celebration — a day when each child receives a special gift, often their only one of the season.

We seek to form confident, faith-filled young people prepared for continued education and lifelong growth.

Parent Professional Program

Recognizing the need for long-term stability within the community, we established an evening professional program for parents and young adults. Programs range from six months to two years and include training in plumbing, electricity, masonry, cooking, pastry, sewing, cosmetology, and hospitality. Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, allowing participants to build practical skills while continuing to work and care for their families.

The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training. Students study foundational theory, complete examinations, and graduate with a recognized certificate and a new professional skill set. Throughout their training, they also have opportunities to meet and learn from experienced professionals working in their field.

The instruction is deeply practical. Participants learn by doing — wiring circuits, laying masonry, preparing meals, designing garments, and planning real events. Their work increasingly supports the life of the school itself: students in electricity and plumbing assist with facility improvements and maintenance, while those in cooking and hospitality help prepare meals and organize celebrations, graduations, and special gatherings.

Our hope is that graduates are equipped not only with skills, but with confidence — prepared to pursue dignifying work and provide more steadily for their families.

As families gain stability, children flourish — and the bonds between school and home grow deeper.

Sustaining the Work

This mission is sustained through faithful generosity that supports:

  • Daily meals for every student

  • Montessori materials and classroom resources

  • Faith formation and enrichment programs

  • Facility maintenance and improvements

  • Vocational training and community outreach

Together, we are nurturing a place where children and families grow in confidence, dignity, and joy.
